Larry Joe Cook was born November 4, 1947, to Dennis Edwin and Faye (Rainwater) Cook in Chickasha, Oklahoma. He passed away October 27, 2011, in Chickasha. Larry was the oldest child, brother to Kay and Johnny.

Larry graduated from Chickasha High School in 1966. He had many jobs from stock
boy at Safeway to driver for Dr. Pepper, Coke and 7-up, but the job that held his heart was the oilfield. He worked most of his life in the oilfield earning the nickname “Mad Dog” Cook.

Larry married his high school sweetheart, Linda Ferrell in April 1965. Unto this union he had three daughters: Tammy Kay, Delynda Jo, and Laurie Denise. He later married Teresa Beaver and they had a son, Larry Edwin Cook. He married Linda Haile in November 1997, and was married to her until her death in August 2010.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Linda.

He is survived by his four children and spouses; Tammy and Ernie Critchfield of Chickasha, Dee and Jennifer Apicello of Shawnee, Laurie Cook of Ohio, and Larry
and Misty Cook of Chickasha; his sister, Kay Thornburg of Chickasha; his brother, Johnny Cook of Chickasha; his grandchildren, Kami and Jake Loveless of Chickasha, Tara Critchfield and fiancé David Baird of Wichita, Kansas, Caitlin Critchfield of Chickasha, Larry Joe Cook III of Indianola, Mikey and Isaiah of Chickasha; stepchildren, Bo Haile and family of Chickasha, Betty Parham and family of Chickasha, Donnie Haile and family of Chickasha, and Trenda Haile and family of Chickasha; numerous nephews and nieces; and a great granddaughter due in March 2012.

There will be a memorial service celebrating Larry’s life on Monday, October 31, 2011 at SonRise Baptist Church on Highway 81 north of Chickasha at 2:30 p.m.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
