Tom R. Rogers
Funeral services for Tom R. Rogers, 79, of Chickasha, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 28, 2013, in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel.
Tom grew up in the Alex Tabler area. He returned to the Chickasha area in 1975.
Tom married his wife Kathryn Phillips on September 9, 1977, in Carson City, Nevada.
Tom moved to Ft Worth, Texas to work as a brake specialist in the auto mechanic field. He also worked for the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority for eleven years, retiring in 1995.
He had many hobbies; dominos, hunting, fishing, church and play days. His favorite place to go was Bowie, Texas with his family.
He was a member of the Church of Christ in Alex, where he enjoyed attending church and fellowshipping, especially the pot luck dinners.
He was preceded in death by: both parents, daughter; Geanitta Hicks, son; Bill Malone and numerous brothers and sisters.
Survivors include: wife; Kathryn Rogers of the home, brothers; J.O. Rogers of California and Walter Rogers & wife Viola of Chickasha, Oklahoma, sister; Jelema Womack & husband John of Cleburne, Texas, daughters; Lisa Baxter and Dennis Smith, Kim Inlow and Gary Keef all of Chickasha, Oklahoma, sons; Reeford Rogers & wife Karen of Arlington, Texas and Kenneth Rogers of Chickasha, Oklahoma, step-daughter; Julie Danforth & husband Chris of Chickasha, Oklahoma and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Interment will be in the Ninnekah Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
