Funeral services for Carolyn “Susie” Ellis, 73, of Chickasha, will be held Saturday, December 28, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. in the Bible Baptist Church with Kim Hayes officiating.
Susie Ellis was born June 15, 1940, in Gracemont, Oklahoma, the daughter of J.C. Harris and Marjorie (Harrison) Harris. She died Wednesday, December 25, 2013, in Chickasha.
Susie moved to the Chickasha area as a young girl and attended Chickasha Public Schools.
She married William “Tuffy” Melvin Ellis, on February 28, 1959 in Norge, Oklahoma.
She had been the co-owner of S&W Construction with her husband William. She worked for Delta Faucet and retired after eighteen years of service.
She enjoyed riding horses and traveling and especially loved family gatherings.
Susie will be greatly missed and loved by her family.
She was preceded in death by both parents.
Survivors include her husband of the home, William “Tuffy” Ellis, of the home; her children and their spouses, Kandi and Henry Bentley of Chickasha, Kristi Ellis and fiancé Brett Maples of Tuttle, John and Shannon Ellis of Alex, Oklahoma; one brother Jerry Harris and wife Julie of Verden and two sisters, Nancy Hector and husband Buddy of Chickasha, and Marilyn Delk of Scroggins, Texas; her grandchildren, Katelyn Bentley of Chickasha, Hunter Dunn and Cameron Dunn of Alex, Brenden Maples of Tuttle and one great grandchild Rylan Bentley of Chickasha, and numerous nieces and nephews and other extended family members.
Interment will be in the Pioneer cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral home.
