img786 (208x300)Graveside services for Dick L. Hames, 58, of Tuttle, will be held at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, May 17, 2014 in Tuttle Fairview Cemetery with Emery Dye officiating.

 

Dick L. Hames was born October 20, 1955 in Oklahoma City, to Jackie L. Hames and Dorothy G. (Knapp) Hames. He died Thursday, May 15, 2014.

 

Dick was married to JoAnn Doss for more than 35 years and from this union came one daughter, Vicki Allred, and one son, Scott L. Hames.

 

He spent his first years in the Oklahoma City area and before his teen years moved with his family to a farm near Tuttle. He graduated from Tuttle High School in 1973. He grew up working with his dad and became an electrical journeyman at a young age. He became an electrical contractor at 25 years old and later served as President of the local Independent Electrical Contractors (IEC) and also served on the Board of Appeals for the city of Oklahoma City. In March 2012, he was forced into retirement due to health reasons.

 

Dick was an avid gun collector with a passion for black powder guns. He loved hunting, fishing, and anything connected to gun sportsmanship.

 

He was greatly loved and will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

 

He is preceded in death by his brother, David Hames.

 

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Vicki and David Allred of Tuttle; son, Scott L. Hames of Tuttle; parents, Jackie and Dorothy Hames of Tuttle; brother and sister-in-law, Randy and Donna Hames of Tyler, Texas; brother, Ronnie Hames of Oklahoma City; four grandchildren, Macey Hames of Mustang, Addison, Rachel, and Aidan Allred of Tuttle; as well as many extended family and friends.

 

Services are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
