Linda Sue Simmons was born November 19, 1941 in Konowa, Oklahoma, the daughter of Elwin Gerald Eaton and Ella Ann (Files) Eaton. She passed away Friday, January 23, 2015 in Oklahoma City.
Linda moved with her family to Cement as a young girl. She attended Cement Public Schools, where she played basketball.
On January 17, 1959, she married Jed “Ruffus” Simmons in Cement. They were married 52 years to date on the day Ruffus passed away.
She worked at Hormel Food Processing for 19 years and she also sold Avon for many years. Linda enjoyed reading, and working puzzles.
She was preceded in death by both parents; husband, Ruffus; daughter, Rita Kinchen; son, Tracy Simmons; one granddaughter and two great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughter, Rhonda Sweet of Midwest City; daughter and son-in-law, Staci and Merv Long of Oklahoma City; son and daughter-in-law, Dustin and Christina Simmons of Harrah; fifteen grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren; as well as many extended family and friends.
Interment will be in Cement Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
