Juanita Omicka Pool was born December 14, 1930 in Eakley, Oklahoma, the daughter of Lem and Arreilue (Townley) Christian. She died Friday, September 4, 2015 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Juanita grew up in Chickasha and the surrounding areas and attended rural area schools. She married Edsel Pool in June of 1946. They enjoyed almost 70 years together with Juanita staying home raising her family and continued through the years to take care of her family.
She loved sewing, gardening, canning, and maintaining her flower beds. A day out shopping was the highlight of her week. She enjoyed fishing, many times she and Edsel would go fishing in the early morning hours. And she really loved when the family could all get together.
She was preceded in death by both parents and her daughter, Lisa Diane Ellis, step-son, Gary Dale Pool, three sisters, Willie Ellen Lamb, Viola Mae Mongold, and Sylvia Word, and five brothers, Kenneth, Henry, Doyle, Claude, and Clyde Christian.
She leaves behind her husband, of the home, Edsel; step-son, Edsel Leon Pool and wife, Pat, of Chickasha; daughter, Juanita Louise Dresser and husband, Jay, of Moore; son, Jimmy Lee Pool of Chickasha; son, Ronald Gene Pool of Chickasha; daughter, Belinda Horstkoetter and husband, Terry, of Moore; step-daughter, Saundra Carr of Fort Worth, Texas; one sister, Mary Ruth Manuel; two brothers, Allen Christian and Leroy Christian; 18 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; and other extended family and friends.
Services and interment in Fairlawn Cemetery are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
