Patty Jane (Burnett) Mayhugh was born June 3, 1969 in Chickasha, Oklahoma, the daughter of Glen Alton Burnett and Bonnie Jo (Turner) Burnett. She passed from this life on Friday, May 10, 2024 in Chickasha, Oklahoma.

Patty grew up in Verden and graduated from Verden High School in 1988.

On July 29, 1988, she married James Lee Mayhugh in Verden, Oklahoma. They dated since high school and were each other’s everything and shared over 35 years together.

Patty’s life revolved around the love of her life, James and her children. She was a great mom. She lived a healthy lifestyle and enjoyed staying fit and sneaking healthy foods into desserts. She had a morning routine of exercise, breakfast and household duties, working, making dinner and then walking or riding her bike.

Over the years, Patty worked at Lightner’s, Pet Milk, a cashier at Dunn’s Grocery, later Spencer’s and now William’s. She was a ray of sunshine and lit up the room. She loved going to garage sales and was a master at getting great deals. If she knew you were looking for something, she would keep her eye out for it and gift it to you. She had an ongoing “Progresso Soup Can” pass as a white elephant gift at Christmas.

James, Patty and Shayla died on the same day and they will be memorialized together in the same service. She was preceded in death by both parents Glen and Bonnie Burnett; sister Glenda O’Rear and brother Orvil Burnett.
